How to Create a Model (and Use It) in adgen
If you’ve ever wanted to quickly generate tailored images that match your brand’s aesthetic and messaging, adgen’s custom model feature can help you do just that. In this post, we’ll walk you through how to create your own model, train it with images that capture your desired style, and generate fresh visuals that resonate with your audience—all within the adgen platform.
1. Getting Started
First things first: sign in to the app. Once you’re in, you’ll see all your options for creating new models, using pre-trained models, and exploring the advanced features. If this is your first time, don’t worry—we’ll guide you every step of the way.
2. Creating a New Model
Want to bring your unique branding or campaign concept to life? Follow these steps to create a new model.
• Open the dialogue: Click the plus (+) button to open a dialogue box for creating your model.
• Give Your Model a Unique Name: Choose a name that makes sense to you—this is especially helpful if you plan on creating multiple models.
• Specify a Trigger Word: Specify a trigger word that represents your model's style. A trigger word is a word you use within prompts to trigger the learnings of the images you've uploaded.
• Upload 5–20 Images: These images should reflect the style, color palette, or overall vibe you want your custom model to produce.
• Add Descriptive Captions: Provide context about each image, noting what’s happening in the scene and describing the color composition. (Pro Tip: You can also use the Autocaption feature, but manual labeling often yields even better results.)
• Train Your Model: Click "Train Model" and wait for the process to complete. It can take up to an hour, so feel free to step away and come back later. Once it’s done, you’ll be all set to generate images based on your custom style.
3. Generating Images with Your Trained Model
Once your model is ready, it’s time for the fun part—generating images!
• Select Your Model: Head to the "Trained Models" section and click "Use model" next to the one you just trained.
• Enter a Descriptive Prompt: The more detail, the better. If you’re stuck, check out the demo page for examples or use a tool like ChatGPT to expand your ideas.
• Adjust the Guidance Scale: Lower values allow for more creative variations (but may produce less accurate text), while higher values keep images closely aligned with your prompt.
• Explore Advanced Features: Open "Advanced" to tweak the aspect ratio and other settings to suit your needs.
• Generate Your Image: Click "Generate Image" and wait about a minute for your new masterpiece to appear.
4. Using the General Model
If you’d like to experiment with a state-of-the-art, ready-to-go model instead of creating your own, use the General Model. It’s great for quick tests, broad creative concepts, or if you’re not quite ready to commit to building a custom library of images.
5. Tips to Improve Your Results
• Iterate on Successful Prompts: If a prompt yields good images, try small changes to refine the output further.
• Use the "Edit the Image" Feature: Select "Edit the Image," wait for the crosshair cursor to appear, and highlight the area you want changed. Then enter your prompt (e.g., "add a blue button with white text that says 'Learn More'").
• Refine Text: If generated text isn’t quite right, highlight it and provide the correct text, such as "Replace this with black text that says 'Example Text'."
• Experiment with Color and Composition: Don’t be afraid to switch up style, color scheme, or layout to keep your branding fresh and engaging.
